The HPSS HIV and AIDS in the Workplace policy aligns the project at all levels with global principles of the 2010 ILO Policy “Preventing HIV, protecting human rights at work”. Our anti-discrimination statement further positions the project in line with the WHO Gender Policy and clarifies the Project as a place of work that is supportive and free from discrimination of any kind, but especially relating to gender, social issues and HIV-status. The Policy, which is placed in the lobby and meeting room of the Dodoma Project office, ensures that all HPSS staff are trained in the cross-cutting issues (CCIs) to ensure that in addition to conducting their work effectively, they can also enjoy their rights, protect their health and the health of their loved ones.

To support the policy, the CCI Focal Person has a role as peer-counsellor in the workplace. Ms. Fiona Chilunda supports the HPSS project as the HIV, Gender and Social Inclusion Focal Person for the Dodoma office.

Since 2011, HPSS has also participated in World AIDS Day. In 2012, for example, we supported public events encouraging community counselling and testing, and particularly reached out to the student community in Dodoma Municipal and Chamwino District.
