Government of Tanzania’s (GoT) Health System Strengthening Resource Centre restocked with modern ICT equipment
HPSS Tuimarishe Afya Project has today provided Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) equipment to the Health System Strengthening Resource Centre based at the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) in the capital, Dodoma.

The donation valued at TZS 15 Million which included 5 laptops, 1 heavy duty photocopy machine and a projector, will improve the availability of good quality information about key public health services in the country.
“The equipment will strengthen the capacity of the Resource Centre to seamlessly generate, collate, and share crucial information especially on health promotion and system strengthening initiatives”, said Ally Kebby, Swiss TPH/HPSS Project Manager, during the equipment handover ceremony.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of GoT, Director of Health, Social Welfare and Nutrition Services at PORALG, Dr Ntuli Kapologwe hailed Swiss TPH/HPSS project for its continued support towards government’s health promotion and system strengthening efforts in the country.
“This donation provides a short in the arm that has been long overdue here at our Resource Centre. I would therefore like to commend Swiss TPH/HPSS project for your continued support and we promise to ensure that the equipment is properly maintained and serves the intended purpose”, he said.

The decade-long partnership between Swiss TPH/HPSS project and Government of Tanzania has yielded the dynamic transformation of Community Health Fund into a tenable Social Health Insurance Scheme, introduction of a complementary medical commodities supply chain system dubbed Jazia Prime Vendor System and strengthened Health Technology Management and Health Promotion practices.
